Ray was born Raymond Cecil Honnas and was raised on a ranch in Sonoita, Arizona.
He graduated from the Univ. of Arizona with a bachelors degree
in Range Management and Animal Husbandry.
His love for ranching stayed with him all of his life.
He ranched in the Sonoita – Patagonia and Brandshaw Mountain Areas.
