Lucretia Roberts Januel

Born: Jan 5. 1879, Shresbury, New Jersey
Died: Dec. 4, 1954, Nogales, AZ

Lucretia's parents were William & Abbey Emery
Her first husband was Gerald Roberts and
her second husband was George Januel

Lucretia was first married to Gerard Roberts from New York.
They had 3 children, Richard, Sally & John. They divorced and she moved
to Arizona and ended up working on a ranch in the Canelo area
owned by friends

Lucretia became the first female sheriff in Arizona in about 1915.
She went to New York and there was a article written about her in the
New Yorks Times.

On Oct. 22, 1920 Lucretia married George Januel from Nogales.

Her son, Richard Roberts, wrote a book about her called STAR IN THE WEST.
From that book a movie (musical) was made called SECOND TIME AROUND
starring Debbie Reynold.
