10/31/2000 Updates on CRICKROCK move from Yahoo: There has been a lot of confusion and frustrations among the members of this ring and I fully understand where everyone is coming from, but please understand this is the best thing to do and I know its a pain in the *ss and many think they have been removed from the ring because the emails from Crickrock aren't sending out as fast as the ones from Yahoo. Please be assured if you get an email stating that you were removed, along with a note under "Additonal Comments" that states this, "And moved to our new webring at Crickrock. Please check earlier emails for more information or our site: http://www.oocities.org/vptour/" You HAVE NOT been removed from the ring, but moved to the new site. The emails should have gone out at the same time, as I did not delete any sites from Yahoo that weren't already added to the new system at Crickrock. So please be assured you are not and have not been removed. The generic html code (which you can copy and paste) as I stated above has been updated on our site as have most links to the new system should be updated. If anyone who recieved an Email from Yahoo stating they were removed doesn't get another email within a day after that from Crickrock stating you were added, please contact me and we will try and find out why. Or if you have any questions or problems or find any links not yet updated within our site, Please contact me: vpadvisors@hotmail.com As I said earlier, I know this is a pain, but worth this extra effort... preventing from further problems with Yahoo... and as many of you know you would soon have to make changes anyways when your links stop working with Yahoo. Please everyone bear with me on this, I am doing the best I can and trying to keep on top of all of this, We have had to add each link individually to the new system and in the process filter those out that are "not found" or broken links. We hope to have this cleared up in the next few days. For those of you that have recieved your emails stating you were added to the new system, you can log into your site information by going to the following link: http://www.crickrock.com/cgi-bin/webring/siteadmin.pl?ringid=vptour For those looking to see if their site is listed, you can check here: http://www.crickrock.com/cgi-bin/webring/home.pl?ringid=vptour Thanks everyone! 10/21/2000 New Letter To Members Due to the changes in Webring's merging with Yahoo, I have debated long and hard about what to do next. I have decided in the next few weeks to change to a new server. What does this mean for you (our member)? Well basically you will need to update your webring code thats within your website. I won't be checking these for the next two-three weeks, but after that time I will start looking at sites to see if updates are made. The generic html code (which you can copy and paste) will be updated today 10/21/2000 on our website here. I know this is a pain, but in all truth I am saving all of us from more problems with Yahoo... and as many of you know you would soon have to make changes anyways when your links stop working (due to the merger). This webring gives us the freedom back, that we had with the original webring before it merged. So I hope everyone understands that this decision however hard it was to make should prove a positive one. I would love feedback and your views so please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks everyone! Letter To Members Hello all members and possibly new members, Recently the Webring.org... which is where our webring is based merged with Yahoo Geocities. By following the above link to the new base of our webring database, you can use your Yahoo/Geocities name and password, or if you don't yet have one, you can create a new one. This will be used for access to the webring and your site information. At the current moment, links are being updated thru our site, and will continue to be updated as needed to keep this an easy and smooth merge from the old site to the new, for our users. There may be links which are inactive, or inoperable. I ask that all members or new prospecting members contact us if you come upon such a link, So that we may correct it as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are trying to make this transition to the new database as less a 'hassle' as possible and hope you will bear with us in making these changes. Any questions, problems, suggestions, complaints, or anything can be directed to us by using our email here at: vpadvisors@hotmail.com OR we have a easy to use contact form, and we also now have a new live chat uplink where you can get in touch with one of our advisors instantly without any downloads. Just click on the chat image below and we will be with you in a jiffy. Thankyou for your patience and understanding and again please don't hesitate to contact us if there is anything you need. |
