Seattle Vegetarian Restaurant Recommendations
True Vegetarian Restaurants
- Bamboo Garden - If you like faux meat, this is the place. We go here about once a week! $$
- Cafe Flora If you are looking for a good date place, be sure and ask to sit in the Atrium. Also great for breakfast! $$$
- Sunlight Cafe - Right next to Whole Foods! Nice broad menu. $$
- Hillside Quickies - Ever miss Jamaican Jerk Seasoning? Or Gyros? They have faux meat version of both using Tofu and Seitan respectively. This place is probably the least known veggie restaurant in Seattle. You can be really cool and underground if you go here. $
- Araya's Thai - Great lunch buffet, and a guaranteed Veggie Thai place which can be nice if are concerned about Fish and Oyster sauce. Most of the Seattle Thai restaurants use these sauces even if the dish says vegetarian. $$
- Silence-Heart-Nest - Mix of American and Indian vegetarian dishes, food is good, the only drag is their odd hours. They are closed on Wednesdays and only open for brunch on Sundays. The rest of the time, they are open until 9pm. And they are closed for 2 weeks twice a year, but I don't have those dates. We invariably try and go there during these holidays. $
- Carmelita - Probably the fanciest vegetarian restaurant in Seattle. Their butternut squash gnocchi is really good. Great date place. $$$
-
Vegetasia - New faux meat restuarant in International District. Good for an inexpensive lunch! $

We also eat at some places that have plenty of veggie selection but also serve some meat dishes. Our favorites are:
- La Cocina, a Mexican restaurant in Capital Hill that allows all its dishes with beef to be substituted with veggie "beef", so basically the whole menu is open. $
- Crocodile Cafe, lots of choices, plus you can listen to bands warming up for shows while you dine! $
- Moonlight Cafe, lots of faux meat dishes on their veggie menu, and karaoke to boot. $
- Marjorie's, a couple of good dishes, but mainly I like the ambience $$$
