Boleans

The bolean cutting and merging tool will be used and explained.

First we will cut one shape with another.
Make a cube Translate to 0, color it green and make box size 3 Y. Make a cylinder Translate to 0. The cube is now inside the center of the cylinder.

Click the Bolean Extraction button (#1 in example). The bolean window will appear, it is important that you clicked the cube then the cylinder if you have moved them or are not sure click the cube first in your tree then the cylider.

Look at Bolean Window the box marked with a "2" shows you that the second node you clicked will cut the first node you clicked. The box marked with a "4" shows that you will have 2 nodes created after you cut, click ok. Your cube now cut all the way through the cylinder, leaving the outside of the cube where it touched the cylinder to make the inside walls. If you wish to only have one indexed face set instead of two, you would click the "5" box. Try several different shapes, made sure all are touching each other they must touch to cut. As you can see different shapes at different angles will cut differently. You can also cut only partially through a node, making a scooped out portion.

(NOTE: The older versions of Spazz3d and Anfy3d seem to have a glitch, when using Create 1 node you may find that it causes it to totaly remove the second node, making it appear as if the node is see through, it is! My suggestion is if you HAVE to have a cut node in your design, and are using an older version, to do them first in another spazz file, that way you don't have the one you are working on messed up while you fool with the cuts. To get the two files together chose merge file from the file tab at the top of the Spazz window, then select your other file, the two files will be combined on your screen and if you save you will have them both.)

Clear screen by deleting all nodes or call for a new window. Again make the same cube and cylinder as in the begining. This time we will use the intersection button #2 in buttons picture. Look how the top is the color of the cylinder and the sides that of the cube, it took only the parts that touched and kept them.

Clear screen and repeat the box and cylinder again. This time we will use the Union box #3 in the buttons picture. Chose create 1 node in the Output box #5 in example 11. See how you now have one node? This will increase your file size so use it sparingly.
