Copying and Referencing

Copying and Referencing will be explained and when is the best time to reference.

Start with any node shape, right click node, bring up menu, choose properties.

Create Copy

(****) Click the paste button, then click working screen creating an exact replica of your item. You may also use this on groups and groups with animations.

The copy and paste work well especially if you want to change the color or texture of the item you copied. However, there are times when you wish to retain the color or texture and would simply like to size or translate a copy to a different place. Using a reference will do this and won't use up as much file size as a copy will. (Important to keep file sizes small for upload requirements to CT or faster loading times.)

Same as above but instead of pasting (see ****), click on Create (top of your screen), then Create Reference. Then click working screen.

For copies where color and texture need to be changed, use a copy. For copies where color and texture remain the same use a reference.
