Aspen: Act Two - Spring
Travel Date: April 16, 2002
Location: Aspen, Colorado; USA
Hi Again!
Well, it’s only been a short time since our last update, and to be totally honest, there isn’t too much to tell, so this update will be a short one. (Big sigh of relief from those of you with real work to do, eh?)
The weather here has held fairly steady with balmy 70 degree F (20 C) days and pure sunshine. It’s been great news for springtime activities like running, mountain biking, and hiking, but it’s been very bad news for the skiing (we took a few photos to show you what 70 degree weather does to the slopes.) In the last two weeks we have made a few mandatory trips to the ski mountains, but otherwise have spent our days lounging in my parents’ sunroom and getting ready for our travels by riding, running and hiking. Needless to say, the last day of skiing here (Sunday) was not the traumatic and gut-wrenching event that it had originally threatened to be. Instead, it was a relief to just kill the beast already!
Vic has also been keeping herself busy with another exciting holiday activity – property shopping! She is currently looking for a 1 BR investment property in downtown Aspen and has viewed several in the last month. This activity will obviously be put on hold while we’re traveling in the southwest, but it will pick up again either in late May when we return from our first trip or in late July when we return from Alaska. We’ll keep you posted as this activity progresses! In other news, Vic has decided to take advantage of a strong upswing in the California real estate market and has put her San Francisco townhome up for sale. So cross your fingers and hope for lots of rich buyers!
Well, that’s about all we have to tell this time, but we’ve still got plenty of new pictures to show you, so be sure to check them out. Today is our last day in Aspen before we leave on the first of our big journeys, so needless to say, the day will be spent packing and planning and getting ready to depart. (For a complete and detailed itinerary of all our travels, follow the link to the Travel Schedule page.)
We hope to send out another update around the first of May when we emerge from the Grand Canyon, but we’re having some problems establishing a reliable dial-in connection that will work from wherever we are. I can promise you though, we will do our very best to keep you continuously updated on all our whereabouts and activities!
Hope you all are well and we’ll be in touch very soon!
Hugs and Kisses,
Vic and Perk
