I am a divorced parent, circa 1994, of two children. Both my ex-spouse and my children reside in Texas.
My 27 year old daughter, Kerri, lives in Pflugerville, TX, a northern suburb of Austin. She works for the City of Austin as a communications specialist with the Police Department, assisting in dispatching communications with officers in the field.
My 21 year old son, Ryan, lives in San Marcos, TX, about 30 miles south of Austin, and attends Southwest Texas State University. He's a junior, majoring in Criminal Justice, and hopes one day to become an officer in the Marine Corps.

Military Experience |
|
|
I previously served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator.
While enrolled at Virginia Tech, I enlisted in the Aviation Reserve Officer Candidate (AVROC) program, and completed basic training during each of two summer sessions prior to graduation.
Upon graduation, I was commissioned as an Ensign in the USNR. After completion of flight training in Florida and Texas, I received my Naval Aviator wings in Corpus Christi in August, 1970.
Due to closure of the Vietnam War and a decrease in the number of operational squadron billets, I was stationed at the Washington Navy Yard, and worked in the Pentagon's Navy Data Processing Center. During my duty tour in Washington, I flew S-2 Trackers from Navy facilities at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.
These were multi-engine ASW aircraft back when pilots really did have to actually fly the airplane.

Employment History |
|
|
My life-long career field has been in the computer services industry. I gained my first computer-related experience while directing shifts of computer operations personnel and computer programmer/analysts while serving in the Navy
Following my Naval service, I joined Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as a programmer/analyst in Tehran, Iran, working on a military contract for the Iranian Air Force and Iranian Army (1974-1977).
Upon returning to the U.S. I continued working with CSC at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, managing several of the data processing centers that acquire and process telemetry data from orbiting satellites (1977-1982) During this time the CSC contract was lost, and I joined Lockheed Corporation, continuing in similar roles with Lockheed at GSFC.
In 1985 I transferred to the Lockheed Missiles & Space operations in Austin, TX, and worked as a software process engineer on a series of defense-related classified contracts, such as the Tomahawk cruise missile and Seawolf submarine.
Upon closure of the Lockheed facility in Austin in 1994, I transferred to the Lockheed Aeronautics Company in Marietta, GA and proceeded to work on various military aircraft programs, including the C-130J airlifter and F-22 tactical fighter. After 8 years with the Aeronautics company, I retired in March 2002, with 20 years of service with Lockhed Martin.

My best friend is a 6-year old cat named Seia. That's "blackie" in Persian. He's the typical Halloween cat ... a stray that was given to me by a co-worker. |
