EVERYONE HAS SOME QUESTIONS...ESPECIALLY THEIR FIRST TIME!

I find potential photo models working as clerks, wait-staff, in offices, even as school teachers. I can only get you started, the way all modeling careers begin,  photos of
you!  Whether you apply your photos to modeling, resumes, web sites or just a fun personal album...you will have something professional to work with.

It's only natural to be a little nervous before your shoot.  Don't worry, you will have fun and get some really nice photos!  Here are some common questions and answers:

"What should I wear?" That's always one of the first!  My answer is always that you know best what looks good on you...and you also have knowledge of your wardrobe that I can't possibly have.  Most models bring at least two outfits, and other items depending on the kind of shots you want to have.  Be creative!  We can discuss this prior to our shooting appointment.

"Why should I do this?" It's an opportunity to start your portfolio, get professional, artistic images of yourself that you can use for any purpose you desire.

"Can I bring a friend?" Again, it's only natural to be a little nervous working with your photographer the first time.  You will be in a safe environment, whether we are doing an outdoor or indoor shoot.  Our time will be spent developing a  creative process between model, photographer and camera.  Adding onlookers, frankly,  gets in the way of this process and eats up time and creativity.  Plus, it just changes the "vibe" in the room and adds extra tension...I will tell you right up front, this is NOT good for your photos.  Our time shooting will be spent working, and it will go by very quickly.   For these reasons, I don't encourage onlookers during a photo shoot. The worst case scenario is bringing a signifigant other (boyfriend, husband, parent).   With that said, If it's a must for you, we can work it out. I prefer chaperones be a friend of the same-sex variety.

"How long does it take?"   Just remember that this is different from having a friend take your snapshot.  Model and photographer work together during the shoot to develop and shoot ideas and a variety of looks, wardrobe, lighting etc.  It all takes time.  Expect to spend a minimum of 2 hours, once the camera starts shooting.  From this, we will get around 30 or more different shots.  I will supply you with copies of everything on your own photo CD.

"What kind of pictures do you take?"  I do modeling portfolio photography and original art photos.  That means I shoot individual models, not buildings, birthday parties, weddings, etc.  Some prefer simple "head shots" in front of a plain background.  I can do this, but I can also do more creative things for you.  My goal is to get the kind of shots that will make you happy, and to capture as many different "looks" of the model as I can.  People have come to me for resume head shots, traditional glamour, lingerie, artisitic nudes, etc. It's your choice.  You will not be expected to do any shot that you are not comfortable with. I put this in writing before the shoot.

"Im not sure I want to be a model."
No problem.  I'm not here to talk you into modeling.  My goal is to get quality shots that you will be happy with, and professional enough so that you CAN use them in a modeling portfolio if desired, or even to create your own website.

"How much will this cost?"
There are no hidden costs or pressure to buy a "package." If I have offered you a T/CD arrangement, there are NO charges.  It is an exchange of services.  The typical paid  session runs around $50. per hour.  This includes photographer's time and materials as well as a photo CD of your shots.  Travel expenses are additional if I must travel to you for the shoot.

TFP: An exchange of your time as a model for free photo work by the photographer. This is a standard practice in photography when the photographer is building portfolio work.  I can't guarantee that this is always possible, but we will agree on terms before your shoot. If I have already contacted you about posing, then I will at least do test shots of you at no charge. I prefer to meet with each model prior to the shoot, to discuss everything and make sure everyone is comfortable with all details. I will bring more of my work for you to look at.

        MORE IMPORTANT STUFF TO KNOW!
I require that models be over 18 and bring valid i.d., which I will copy and keep on file. This is so that I can be assured that you can legally give your permission to have your photos done without additional written permission from a parent, etc.  You will be providied with a release form. This is necessary, by law, to show that I have your written permission to photograph you.  IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, I will consider working with you (for glamour only) if you can supply written and signed permission from a parent or guardian. I can only consider this on a case-by-case basis.

I do digital photography
.  That means no one has access to your photos at the drug store photo counter or photomat.  I personally edit and process your shots.  When they are done, you get everything on a CD.  I will also print 2 or 3 composite sheets with select photos in a variety of sizes.  The CD will have original quality digital photos that you may have reproduced in the size and format desired.  You can view, copy and even email your photos on your home computer with CD drive.  They can also be easliy addded from your CD to your  webpage.

Just remember, this is a unique opportunity to get some great photos done...AND it really is a lot of FUN!
