TOPS Contract- This is a great incentive program that lasts all year, but is done by the quarter. Members are asked to sign a contract stating that they will:
1. Show a loss each month. (or maintain KOPS status) 2. Attend at least three meetings a month. 3. Follow their chosen food plan. 4. Lean on their TOPS pals for support. 5. Work hard to be the chapter best loser for the year. Everyone who wishes to participate pays $5.00 per quarter. At the end of each quarter those who have achieved their goals will receive $10.00 back! At the end of the year, a cash prize from the treasury will be divided among all who achieve their goals for the year. |

Frog Contest- For this contest, you will need to buy or make some small frog stickers- you will need 12 stickers per person. Give each person a paper with lily pads on the left and right sides, and a cauldron in the middle. You will be trying to jump your frog from the left lily pad to the right. To do this you will earn frog stickers to represent jumps. The contest will last 4 weeks, and each week you may earn up to three stickers. You earn stickers by:
(1) Weighing in with a loss for TOPS, or being at or below goal for KOPS (2) Exercising at least 4 days (at least 30 minutes per day) (3) Contacting another member for support- can be by e-mail, phone, or snail mail, but forwarding a joke or something by e-mail does NOT count. It must be for support. Any unearned stickers go into the cauldron where they are "eaten". The idea is that you are jumping over obstacles to reach your goal. The member (or members) who earn the most stickers should receive a small prize- maybe a frog charm. |

Take a Virtual Vacation- Earn TOPS bucks to spend on your virtual vacation. You can either make fake dollars to give out, or just keep a running total of money earned by each member on paper. The more you earn, the nicer your vacation will be. Those wishing to participate bring in two travel size items. Put all of the travel items in a basket. Each week, the one who earns the most money that week gets to choose one travel item from the basket. At the conclusion of the contest, the person who has earned the most money for their vacation wins the basket with the remaining travel items. Money is earned as follows:
Weighing in with a loss (or KOPS below goal)- $50 Turtle (or a KOPS above goal, but in leeway)- $25 Weigh in with a loss of 2 pounds or more- $75 KOPS 5 pounds or more below goal (in leeway)- $75 Weekly Best Loser- $50 Staying for the meeting- $25 Contact a TOPS pal for support- $50 Keep a food diary- $50 Exercise at least 30 minutes per day- $25 for each day Drink at least 6 glasses of water- $25 for each day Bring in a healthy recipe- $25 |

Sock Partner Contest- Each member who wishes to participate in the contest brings in a pair of socks. One sock from each pair gets placed inside a paper lunch bag. A non-matching sock gets stapled to the outside of each bag. Each member takes the bag that has one of their socks on the outside and writes their name on the bag. Do not open the bag. Each week, record your losses and gains on the bag, and at the end of the contest, calculate your net loss or gain. All bags will be opened and the person whose sock is inside your bag is your secret partner and you will combine your net losses or gains. The pair with the greatest loss will be the winners. The winning team will split all the socks.
More will be added as I get them. Check the next pages for team contest ideas, seasonal contests, and holiday contests.
Gasoline Contest- In this contest, your price of gas will drop as your weight drops- if only it were that simple! On a large poster board, glue a picture of a gas pump for each member, or draw them if you have someone artistic enough in your group. Be sure there is a window to display the price per gallon so that it can be easily changed by putting a new sticker over the old price. Use small stickers for the price. Everyone will start at $4.00 per gallon. After weigh-in each week, each person will adjust the price on his or her pump based on the results of their weigh-in. For each loss, the price drops 25 cents. For each gain, the price goes up 25 cents. For a turtle, the price stays the same. KOPS at or below goal count as a loss. For KOPS above goal, but in leeway, the price will stay the same, and KOPS out of leeway count as a gain. The first person to get their gas price down to $2 per gallon is the winner. You could ask each person who wishes to participate to pay $1 or $2 and buy a gas card for the winner, or gas cards in the case of a tie.
