Vermont Maple KOPS Honor Society News The Vermont Maple KOPS Honor Society held their second meeting of the year on August 2nd at the House of Tang Restaurant in Montpelier. Vermont Coordinator Judy Jones was there as a special guest, along with other invited guests. The meeting began with a moment of silence in honor of Frances Terrien, an active member who passed away over the summer. There was a discussion about the presentation for 2009 SRD. Chris Morey showed two certificates she had made for the Milestone Award, and the group voted on which one they will use in the future. Judy mentioned the retirement of Area Captain Ralph Gilson, but Ralph will remain active both in TOPS and in the Honor Society. It was also mentioned that Judy and Carol Priest will be going to Milwaukee for training as part of the Time to Shine program for field staff. After lunch, KOPS numerals denoting the years of membership in the Honor Society were given out. The fall meeting was held on November 1st in Jacksonville. The theme for the meeting was "Hunting for KOPS." The meeting started with a discussion about the Honor Society's presentation for SRD 2009. For those members who were not present at the meeting, please send your name and weight loss to goal to Chris Morey no later than April 4th, or bring it to the next meeting so that Chris can hand print the information on 8 x 10 cards.
