I might be blind but I can still cook!” Thanks Sharon. They were delicious! Says she writes poetry and is experimenting with string art. She went on to explain that MS has caused her to become legally blind. Patty Lawson told the group her preferred medium is oil on canvas and canvas boards. She shared with us the latest pencil sketches of the steps she is working on leading to the gates… a project she is working on in memory of her mother titled “Welcome to My World.” Keep up the great work Patty. Joyce Ann Mundon came to her first meeting since last year sometime. She finished a picture of Jesus interring Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Joyce has done some wonderful artwork and even won an award at CCHB. She expressed her interest in participating in a craft show. Great to have you back Joyce Ann! Tara Sears attended her first meeting today. She enjoys painting, working on ceramic houses, and cross-stitch. Members suggested she also take part in Arts and Crafts every Thursday sponsored by HCRI. She just finished a baby bib for her friend. Way to go Tara! We hope you keep coming. Philip Hasty decided to come to the meeting. He said VF had always seemed to be a strong healthy group and wanted to see if he had a place here. Patricia said she felt the same way so she came to a few meeting and the art began to flow. It just needed an arena. Everyone has something to offer. Margaret Mefford visited to see what group is like. Loves poetry. Bring in some to share! Claudia Phillips does cross-stitch and would like to learn to quilt. An idea was mentioned about a group quilt being started. Possibly Melissa Preston who just finished a quilt for her niece could give us some pointers. Jenny McGaha finally gave in to Patricia’ begging and came to a meeting. LOL! Jenny is a singer and songwriter. She used to travel but temporarily had to stop due to increased anxiety. She as just compiled a booklet of her songs and as a meeting to record her music. Sarah has heard her as exclaims, “Jenny is a wonderful pianist and singer.” Way to go Jenny! Greg Largeway visited from CRI. Loves art and plays guitar. Next time you attend bring your guitar and keep those referrals coming! Patricia Reynolds told group about her candle making and her love for music. She is working on a poem about “The Light” and what it means to her. She also explained the steering committee for new members and visitors. The meeting end with Sharon McCoys’ announcement of the passing of Urban Waldbillig. This was a shock and loss for all. May he rest in peace. Next General meeting is January 10th, 2002 In case of bad weather please Call Doris @ 513- 221 8660 to see if meeting has been cancelled. Hope to see you all there!
