Vulcan’s Forge Steering Committee Meeting Minutes January 17, 2002 Present: Cecelia Shooner, Patricia Reynolds, Patty Lawson, Dennis    Sweeney, and Ron Davis Vulcan’s Forge welcomes Caroline Hickey as our new treasurer! She plans to attend her first meeting in February. Many thanks Caroline! Recovery Initiative asked the steering committee to vote on whether or not VF would be willing to share the Art space in the new building, providing Arts & Crafts would change their meeting day. The room has a sink, shelves, cabinets, and three worktables. Members decided this is a wonderful opportunity to attend both groups. We are delighted to accept this generous offer. Thank you, Jewell! Committee members worked on the phone tree. If you would like to hear about meeting cancellations and last minute opportunities that arise before the next steering committee meeting please call Doris at (513) 221-8660. Every penny counts!  Ron Davis brought news to the group about an upcoming segment on FOX 19 news called “You Choose the News”. It may be possible for a story to be done on Vulcan’s Forge. Ron Davis and Dennis Sweeney will follow up on the web and bring info back to the Meeting. Sounds really cool! February events- Next general meeting February 14th, members wanting to participate in making decoupage boxes are welcome. Bring in anything you might have such as boxes, glitter, modge podge, tissue paper, magazines etc. Thursday, February 21st Cecelia will bring in a movie called “Art 21” (21st Century). Explore the spirituality artists’ experience through creativity. Please bring a snack to share if you can. Drinks will be provided. Invite a friend! March events- Ideas were discussed as follows: 1. Sale at Central Clinic. Baked goods, art, crafts, post cards etc. Cecelia will make phone calls to see if feasible for March. Patty Lawson and Patricia Reynolds volunteered to be on planning committee. 2. Ron Davis giving class in jewelry repair. 3. Melissa Preston instructing paper maché classes.
