| Vulcan’ s Forge Steering Committee Notes July 18, 2002 Attendees at meeting were: Patricia Reynolds, Ron Davis, Joan Rohrer, Dennis Sweeney, Sharon McCoy & Patty Lawson . Sarah Gallant was sick but we had her input with us today. Get well Sarah!! 1. No treasurers report (Carolyn Hickey Sick) Hope you are well soon!! 2. Oktoberfest, Covington -Participants As new exhibitors, Sarah agreed to write the letter they want. Those participants, who want to be in the Oktoberfest, need to bring their art to recovery initiative to be photographed at the next general meeting, which win be Thursday August 8, 2002. We want to get the pictures to them as soon as we can. We will be considered, however there is no guarantee that we will be selected. They are looking for unique items this year, so we all need to bring our best for the pictures. The pictures we take on the 8th are for that purpose, and they will not be returned to us. Please e-mail Vulcan's Forge with your name, what and how many items you will be bringing to be photod. We need to know how much film to bring! ! ! Only bring items you want to sell at the Oktoberfest. If you do not have e-mail, please call 221-8660 and leave us a message. 3. We decided to go ahead with the base gallery group membership. Sarah will be taking care of those details for us |

| 4. Patricia and Dennis will talk to Cecelia and Sarah about. the next poetry reading to be held at a future undetermined date (but soon!) at Baba Budan, since we are invited back! ! Most likely will be in late august or September . 5. We had a great outcome at the NAMI convention! All participants sold their items, except for 1 person. And all that sold, did better than we have done in the past. Don't know what you missed! We had a great time!! 6. Under new business -we discussed the need for easels for Vulcan's Forge, and Ron Davis, Patricia Reynolds, & Patty Lawson agreed to attempt to make our own. Patricia said she has the wood we would need and she thinks she has the hardware also. So we're gonna give it a go! We also discussed the possibility of obtaining grants to open our own storefront for Vulcan ' s Forge Art to be displayed and sold. This is a long-term goal for us. One we hope to accomplish in the next year or two. Hope to see you at the next meeting! ! Remember August 8th on the second Thursday of August! ! And our next steering committee meeting will be on the third Thursday of August, which is August the 15 th! Come & get in on the exciting planning of Vulcan's Forge!! SEE YOU THERE!! |
