THE FLAMBOYANT (Delonix regia)
The name is foreign. Flamboyant, in french means flaming, adjective justified for the accented red coloration of its flowers. the tree came from far - it is originary of the coast east of Africa, Madagascar and Island of the Indian Ocean - but has as much time in Brazil that can be found in any part of the country. The first plants had been broght in brazil at the beggining of century 19, at the time of D. Joao VI. Today it is more common at the Southeastern region of Brazil, and it is very used outside houses because of its beuty. the flaming color gave the name to the tree, however, it is not the only one color. It has varieties with flowers in clearer tonalities, as orange-clearly and yellowish salmon.
