The iceman of the alps is concidered to be one of the oldest and the best preseved mummies in hystory. He is also known as Otzi. He was found by two German hikers in 1991,in the Italian alphs. At the time of his discovery Otzi was estimated to be 5200 years old. This would mean that he lived in the Stone Age. His remans were remarkably well preserved in the snow as were his belonging, includig his clothes,wepons, and even his last meal was found in his intestine.       After Otzi's discovery, scientists have trided to piece together a lot of details of his life. They found that he was about 159C.M. tall. They determained that his place of origin was in the valleys in the south side of the alps but also felt that hje may have migrated elsewhere during adulthood. Most likely he was a sheperd traveling to the alphine reagns  for a few mothes  each summer to graze livestock. His deathj may have been caused by an arrow wound in his back due to a violent scuffle. The possessions found were his copper axe a dagger, tools, medical chest, a hide coat, grass cloak, and shoes. The scientists have been able to study each of his possessions and this has thrown light on how people lived in the Stone Age.He is now in the South Tyro musum in Italy. He is know being preserved ?in an artificial igloo. For Example Scientis feel that he made his copper axe on his own  usding very advanced techniques.
