    The caves of Lascaux are of the most important sites of prehistoric man. They contain paintings that look like the way animals had been. The caves are important because they unlock the door to the past.
      The caves of Lascaux are located on the western side of France. They are found next to the River Vezere. With carbon dating, scientists found the the caves of Lascaux are 17,000 years old, the first carving dating back to the Magdenian Age.
       On the cave walles Paleolithic man painting images of human and animals. They hunted the animals and drew them on the walls. dangarous animals like mamoths, bison, bears, and lions were painted. The caves give us a look into the past life of cave men. They are believed to be a part of religious beliefs.
