Pearl Harbor Bombing

In the night of December 7, 1941, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The Japanese sunk 2 ships, exploded 200 planes, and murdered 2000 American citizens. This attack astonished the US Congress and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Amidst the astonishment, Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan. On December 8, 1941, US entered the war on the side of the Allies. The Allies consisted of Great Britain, USSR, and newly joined US.
