Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony was born on May 29th, 1984. His hometown is Towson, MD. He went to Oak Hill Academy for High school. Carmelo Anthony attended Syracuse University. Carmelo is currently playing on the Denver Nuggets in the NBA.

He did not play as a freshman in high school.

In his sophomore year he averaged 14 points per game, 5rebounds per game, 4 assists per game, and 2 steals per game.

As a sophomore he led his team to a 26-3 record and 3rd place in the state championships.

As a junior he averaged 27 ppg., 8 rpg., 3 apg., and led his team to a 23-6 record and 4th place in the state championships.

In 2001, he was named Baltimore City county player of the year
Carmelo led Oak Hill Academy to a 67 game winning streak.

In 2001-2002, he earned MVP honors at the Les Schwab Invitational and the Prime Time 3-point shootout.

In 2001-2002 led Oak Hill academy to a 32-1 record and an USA national third place ranking.

As a high school senior he averaged 22 ppg., 7 rpg., 3 apg., 2 spg., shot 58% from the floor along with 48% from the 3-point line and 68% from the free throw line.

Ranked No.1 among the 2002 senior class by Hoop Scoop, 2nd by Monter College Basketball News, and 3rd by All-star Sports.

Carmelo was named one of the five finalists for Naismith Player of the Year award.

In 2002 he was named USA Today All-USA first team, Parade Magazine all first team, and America All-American first team.

Recorded a quadruple-double in high school, with 36 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists, and 10 block shots.

In 2002 he was named onto the East All-America Team, with 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists in the East?s 138-107 defeat over the West.

He also played USA Basketball and earning a 2001 silver medal and to a 3-2 record.

In 2002 he led the USA squad to a 4-1 and the bronze medal.

By far his biggest accomplishment is in his freshman year of college when he led the under-dog Syracuse Orangemen into the NCAA Tournament and defeated Kansas in the Championship.

He was named Most Valuable Player in the tournament.

Next in store for him was the NBA, where he was drafted 3rd overall to the Denver Nuggets.

His rookie year he came in second place for the ROY (Rookie of the Year) voting, led his team to the playoffs for the first time since 1995 after a 17-65 to a 43-39 record.

He averaged 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in his rookie year.

They lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
