Brewers Home Opener 2000
Tailgating at County Stadium
Springtime in Wisconsin usually means two things, warmer weather and the Brewers home opener. This was the first time in a long time that I had been to one and boy was I in for it! Brent and Nate came in from out of state for this while the rest of us were already in the area. The day started off meeting up at Hardees so we could all caravan together and 1 1/2 hours later we were in the parking lot ready to tailgate. The beer was chilled and the grill was warm so we were set until game time. The one bad thing about the new parking lots is they have no public port-o-potties so you're left to fend for yourself in that respect. We managed to find a party that was charging only $1 a go, but some of the guys in our group didn't even bother w/ that.
Around game time we slowly made our way to the stadium bringing a few beers w/ us and it turned out our seats we as far away from home plate as possible, even still we had a good time. There were some rowdy college kids sitting in front of us and pretty soon we had a little fight on our hands. After the smart alec took a few hits we thought everything was cool until we saw the ushers coming our way and knew it was time to take off. Once on the main level we sweet talked one of the ushers into letting us out in the bleacher section to meet up w/ some other freinds and we watched the rest of the game from there. After that we headed to the Hooters downtown to get a bite to eat. All in all, not too bad of a day!
