Here are some pics of the '59 being loaded on the trailer the day I bought it up near Salt Lake City. That's my co-worker/friend Randy who made the whole thing possible, without him I could not have made the trip! Yea Randy!!!!!! As luck would have it a thunderstorm hit as we arrived and we did get wet! PLUS the SC was infested with WASPS! The PO had a can of spray so I was able to clean them out (NOT!). |
The pics below are when we arrived back in Havasu after driving "27 HOURS round trip"! Not the brightest thing I have ever done but the truck was now home safe & sound! In the 2nd pic you can see my VW buddy Dennis who happen to just be passing by. As we pulled up my wife came outside and asked, "What's with all the WASPS?" They had just been hiding in the truck the whole way back! Some were pissed off and some were car sick I think! |
The '59 has become my daily driver and I'm loving it more & more! q:-{) It has a 1600 DP that runs great. Completely rebuilt front end. I changed the following: Rancho 4.12 tranny. Rebuilt RGBs. All new brakes. Shocks Tires- 205/75/14s ( I know, it should have 15s but I don't have any rims ). Front bumper a repop emblem. Painted hub caps. 15 gal. bay gas tank. Gabe the key man rekeyed the whole truck and resprung the door handles. Insulated the cab completely and it is quite. Stuff still to do: Seat covers & cab panels. ( 1776 motor, 110 cam, dual Kadrons, 3 angle valve job, 009 dizzy, type 4 cooler, etc. ) |
