This 1979 Van had a rock-solid body, but it needed a cosmetic work, a transmission and a motor. Tender loving care goes a long way with a truck like this. Bookmark this page and I'll try to keep it updated regularly. Click on the pic below to see the most recent image of the bus, carrying the frame for the pop-top she's gonna sport next spring!!

Well, Das Über-Kamper is still
rolling, despite some SOB stealing the gas-cap. Gonna have to get that
fixed soon, it's raining a lot lately. A request for a kayak-rack on the
type2.com
list lead me to create a
guide
to building your own "Yak Rack". You'll need the Adobe acrobat reader,
you can download it here.
In other news, I picked up some westy canvas and a spare 1.7 litre motor at the wreckers last month, and it'll keep me busy this winter. If you have any spare carbs, fuel pumps or distributors laying around *please* let me know.
The Das Über-Kamper is doing great now, I've refitted the interior and have started work on the outside. The motor purrs like a kitten and we had a great road-trip last week, travelling from Toronto - Parry Sound - Sudbury - Tobermorey - Toronto, with a full day at Science North in Sudbury.
Before I did a lot of work on the van, it did some work for me, appearing in a trailer for the Toronto International Film Festival. Check out that story here.
BONUS:
I took a photo of Denmeister's bus last year, and this week I traced
it in Adobe Illustrator. It actually turned out pretty well, so i thought
I'd post it here as well. In the original file I have it layered to remove
the pop-top and to preview multi-coloured paint schemes. If you have Acrobat
Reader, you should be able to open the attached
PDF file. If you don't have the reader, it's easy to get from www.adobe.com
