VW 181 Facts & Figures

Military manuals

Bundeswehr (German Federal Army) manuals are called 'TDv' which stands for Technische Dienst-vorschrift (Technical Service order). Those applicable for the VW 181 are listed below. The Bundeswehr reissued most of their manuals for the VW 181 once, sometimes twice - generally speaking, the formats were improved with each issue, being supplemented with an increasing number of photographs and illustrations.

The Danish Army published the manual:

  • BTVJ-2310-910-10: Midlertidig betjeningsvejledning for Folkevogn (VW), 4x2, M181, person, alle typer ("temporary operating instructions for Volkswagen (VW), 4x2, M181, person, all types"), dated November 1974.
