Picking up the Broomstick

Well I suppose this is where you want me to tell you that this should be easy? Well I am not going to do that. This is the Beginning, this is where the real brain work starts. The First thing I want you to do tonight is think about what brought you here. What are the circumstances surrounding your curiosity? I can tell you right now if it is to manipulate people or things to get what you want you are in the wrong place. If you are lost and need truth and balance this is it.  But everything starts here with you.  You need to be very honest with yourself and if you can't do that don't waste the brain power. If you can't be honest you are not ready to enter the Realm of the Witches.  Honesty is what the whole thing is about. The Truth. And until you are ready to face yourself you cannot change anything not even yourself. And that is what the whole thing is about.  So take time thinking this through.     Okay so you've thought it through and have decided that the Craft is for you well congratulations! As I have said this is where the work begins. I want you to write a vow to whomever you believe God to be that you will spend a full year and a day doing nothing but studying and expanding your knowledge. Study all religion not just Witchcraft and Wicca. You need to know how it all fits. This is important. I suggest working through a chapter a month of Silver Ravenwolf's How to Ride a Silver Broomstick. One Chapter a month and don't rush. Learn it word by word and understand it. That means you need to do the exercises too.  And each month read a book on her suggested reading list as well. If this is done properly it should take you a full year so stay busy! And you will want to start celebrating you Holy Days ( Sabbats) and Learn how to turn our Wheel of the Year!  Learning why we celebrate these eight days is so much fun!
