SO EXACTLY WHAT DO WE DO?
WE FOLLOW THE THIRTEEN PRINCIPLES OF BELIEF
WE ABIDE BY THE THREEFOLD LAW
WE LIVE BY THE WICCAN REDE
JUST A LITTLE CONFUSED?
SO WAS I ABOUT 14 YEARS AGO.
LET'S START AT THE BEGINNING SHALL WE?
First of all I would like to point out that there is a difference in Witchcraft and Wicca. All Wiccans are Witches but not all Witches are Wiccan. Wicca was founded by Gerald Garner in the 1950's. Wicca involves a structure of Pantheons  and alot of pomp and circumstance. The rituals are complex and involve alot of tool usage. They have the same basic beliefs that witches do but wiccans add alot to it. Most people have the misconception that they are the same thing, Witchcraft and Wicca are not. Witchcraft goes back farther.   t dates back to the Celts and Druids.  Witches believe in two deity's and don't try to confuse the God and Goddess with alot of pantheons. Witches keep it very simple, if they need to do something they do it, they don't always wait for the correct moon phase and day, nor do they always wait for the corrrect time correspondence, They don't believe in pulling out the full dress robes and setting up a ceremony when lighting a candle and insense will work just as well. This is a common misconception. However, since Wicca has become recognized as a religion, some witches will use that term as their basis of faith because more is known about it and it is a way to get them to understand the general idea without going into alot of unecessary jargon. Now that you understand that we are going to take this back farther, Lets break down the words  Pagan, Witch and Wicca. That way you have a better understanding from where each one came and what they mean.
Pagan,  means Country Dweller. Someone who was basically considered a hick and of underclass status. The word pagan went through many changes, now it means someone who is an outcast of society or someone who is of an unchristian faith.  The pagans formed their own society and began their own religion, this is where the Druids and Celts came into the picture. That is for another page though.
Witch, The word Witch comes from the germanic root word Wic, It means to know.  Wych in Saxon , and Wicce in Old English, mean to turn, bend and shape. But the oldest form of witch is traced back 8'000 years to an old Proto-Indo-European root word weik (way-ik) which means pertaining to majik and religion.  Which eventually became Wicce, which was the Old English Version. That term meant Female Sourcerer, While the word Wicca was used for Male sourcerer. Which is what Gerald Garner used for his movement of Witchcraft.
Hence the term Wicca.
It is all tied into one another which is why everyone gets them mixed up with each other.
Now Majik Is another  term that people confuse, Majik and Magic are two different things, Magic is a slieght of hand and usually refers to an illusionist. Majik is used to describe what Witches and Wiccans Practice.
Majik comes from the words Magus and Magos, meaning Wise. The English word Magi comes from them as well  and mean Wise Men.
