Back then (many, many years ago, technologically speaking), the show was truly a "slide show," involving the production and compilation of 35mm (2" x 2") photographic slides, shown through a projector. The 1992 show was the first to use two projectors, run through a dissolve unit.
In 2001, with the help of a friend's slide scanner, I was able to remaster the entire show electronically, using Corel Presentations. Although there were some minor changes in the content, the new show is essentially the same as the version shown to the Messiah College student body in "Senior Chapel," on April 23, 1992. The original 20-minute soundtrack remains unchanged, and the new production also includes a new 5-minute concluding segment.
Recently, with the help of my cousin Mike at DVXS, we were able to transfer the electronic production back to VHS, and then also to DVD. Copies in both formats are available to anyone who's interested. Personally, I think it makes an excellent companion to our senior yearbook.
Most of you know that we were able to show it at our ten-year reunion in October 2002, but the reunion was so well attended that many people couldn't fit into the room. I'd especially encourage those of you who couldn't get in to get ahold of a copy. I think you'll like it...NPS
