SEASON OF MIRACLES

My first major writing project was a book I undertook almost at a whim in the winter of 1992-1993.  The 1990 Boston Red Sox has led their fans on an incredible charge towards the American League East division title.  The finally clinched it on an unbelievable catch by Tom Brunansky on the last play of the final game of the season.

Unfortunately, 1990 has become "
the forgotten memorable season."  If anything, the only memory people seem to have is that they lost in the playoffs that year (an unceremonious 4-game sweep by the Oakland A's).  I wrote this book so that this incredible season would not be forgotten.

Given the narrow subject matter, it came as no surprise that none of the more than 30 publishers I contacted expressed any interest whatsoever.  Finally, in 2001, I reworked the draft and decided to print and distribute the book myself.  Thus, copies are available for anyone who might be interested.

If you're a baseball fan, or especially a Red Sox fan, I'd encourage you to check out Season of Miracles.  Although the subject may seem a little narrow, I think once you start reading you'll find that it was really an exciting season.  You can start by reading the
Prologue, which is available on the Internet.  You might also be interested in the synopsis I wrote for DIEHARD magazine about the 1990 Boston Red Sox.
