Pictures speak a lot here. I had a job offer and had to get off my duff and get some things done around the shop before I returned to work. I took laquer thinner and washed off the firewall from the previous attempt to paint it. All the primer and paint washed off to bare metal. Sadly this was very easy. I applied epoxy primer to the firewall and painted with industrial enamel semi gloss black. I got the fenders and doors ready for the paint room and the painter blew paint on them. As you can see we left off the stripe until I bolt everyting on the car. That way the stripes will line up correctly to the quarters.

While the body was in the air the frame was touched up (black parts only). I then installed the brake and fuel lines to the car frame. I installed the 2004R transmission that will be pulling the car down the road at this point also. The ratty tires were installed and the frame placed back under the body. I haven't let the two meet again because I have a few more things to do before I get there. I rolled the bottom of the car in bedliner material much more carefully than I did the inside. This alone took almost 3 hours. Hopefully the car will be set on the frame tomorrow (Tuesday 5/4/2004) and the doors and fenders reinstalled. Then it will look like a car again.
