Callbook and Callsign FAQ
Q5: What information is available in callbooks?

A5: All callbooks list the callsign and licensee name. Anything beyond this depends on the book

The 1909 Wireless Blue Book (as reproduced by Gernsback) lists city and state, and also has some station information: wavelength and power level.

The 1914 Wireless Blue Book doesn't even list the state, although the call district is known from the callsign itself.

Government callbooks varied in their additional content. Some included a name index or an address index, depending on the issue.

The Flying Horse callbooks typically have always included a full mailing address. License classes were included starting with the Fall1967 issue. Prior to this, license classes can not be determined unless they are inferred by the callsign itself, such as the Novice class licenses.

The Buckmaster "alternate" indexes of 1982, 1983, and 1985 only include the index field and callsign. If you want the additional information, you must cross-reference another book. So the Name Indexes only list name and callsign--the address is not included. Likewise, the Address Indexes only list address and callsign--the name is omitted. The same is true of the ARRL Name Directory and Geographical Directory of 1984.
