A brief
Who is who?

Three pictures of Michael Moor the Director General of the WTO.

He seems to be a little bit idle since on the center picture (which is from the WTO website <http://www/wto.org>) he has surprisingly little gray hair, while the two other photos (from the BBC world service <http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/>) are more recent. Probably he got some more gray hair in his struggle against another candidate from Thailand, who (surprise surprise) finally didn't make it.

Roberto Ruggiero

the former Director general of the WTO who has still some influence in the background.

Sir Leon Brittan

former member of the EU commission who had to leave his position because of a scandal around an EU project intended to make nuclear power plants in Eastern Europe saver (the word corruption is not mentioned in the EU report).
He was one of the driving forces for the new millenium round.

 Helmut Maucher

former CEO of Nestle. Maucher took over the Presidency of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in January 1997. He played a significant role in developing a "partnership" between ICC, WTO and UN System.

William (Bill) H. Gates III ,

little has to be said about him. He is head of Seattle Host Organization who is organizing the upcoming WTO ministerial in Seattle end November.
His major motivation to get involved was most likely to push for the introduction of new negotiations on electronic comers at the upcoming WTO meeting.

the Boeing Crew

"Boeing has grown to be the world’s largest aerospace company. The leader in commercial aircraft, military aircraft and missiles, and space markets".

..
Philip M. Condit

is the present Chairman and CEO of the Boeing Company. Besides that, he is Co-Chairperson of the Seattle Host Organization.
Boeing is trying to use the WTO dispute settlement body to file a case against Airbus the biggest competitor of Boeing on the world market for commercial aircrafts.

Further:

"...Boeing and McDonnell Douglas have let it known they will ask US authorities to intervene if the European Union tries to block the proposed merger between the two companies. However, both companies are currently participating in an European Union investigation of the merger. But if the EU tries to block the merger, "that gets to be just not an issue for Boeing Co., it's also an issue for the US government," said  Raymond Waldmann, vice president of international business for Boeing..."

Patricia (Pat) Davis.

She is member of the Seattle Host Comity and President of Washington Council on International Trade which formed the Seattle Host Organization . Davis played a key role in bringing the World Trade Organization's 1999 Ministerial meeting to Seattle.
Strange enough since recently nobody wants to mentioned her former position at Boeing Computer Services anymore.

And last but not least the probaly most interesting person of them all.
