Registered Gross Tonnage: 39,241 tons.
Twin Screw: 60,000 horsepower.
Top Speed: 27 knots.
Length Overall: 774 feet.   Beam: 97 feet.
Fully air-conditioned throughout.
Equipped with Denny Brown stabilizers to minimize rolling and flares fore and aft to reduce pitching.
Closed circuit TV screens in public rooms, apartments and deluxe cabins.
TV cameras for transmitting films, cruise activities, etc.
Swimming pool "Lido" area: 10,350 sq. feet, with two adjoining pools each of 360 sq. feet each.
Total Deck Space: 66,350 sq. feet.
Cinema Seating Capacity: (two levels) 420.
Public rooms toaling 54,000 sq. feet, of which one lounge is 7,920 sq. feet for shows and conferences. It is provided with a screen for cinema projection.
Spacious dining salon... with no pillars to obstruct anyone's view.
Navigational Equipment of the most Modern Type: Two radars of different range equipped with automatic anti-collision plotter, Sperry gyro-compass and 8 repeaters, a Sperry course recorder, an echo sounder, a Decca navigator, a Sperry Loran navigator, a Sperry automatic pilot.

History

Launched January 15, 1965. She made her maiden voyage from Genoa, Italy to New York on March 31st of that year. Although intended for transatlantic service, she began cruising on April 24, 1965. The Oceanic eventually cruised to Nassau/Bermuda from New York during the summer months and the Caribbean from Port Everglades during the winter. She was sold to Premier Cruise Line in 1985 and renamed Starship Oceanic.
