Welcome to The Deco Group
The Deco Group Partnership is a Northern California company with business interests in a variety of fields. This web page has no connection to any of those enterprises.
This site exists solely to support hobbyists interested in Home Automation in general, and advanced HAL2000 based automation in particular.
This site exists to encourage Home Automation enthusiasts, particularly
hobbyists who are automating their own home, and to show interested folks
what can be accomplished with easily available tools and systems. We provide
this site to encourage the awareness, development and acceptance of Home
Automation concepts and technologies. We believe today's hobbyists are the
early adopters and technologists who will drive future awareness and grow
the Home Automation marketplace.
Material published on this site is offered freely, and may be used without limitation by anyone for personal hobby oriented purposes. Commercial use of
the material on this site is allowed provided certain minimal conditions are
met. Specifically, we merely require both permission and acknowledgement.
In other words, as an individual in support of your own home use and
experimentation, feel free to use anything published herein. However, if you are
a Home Automation professional looking to apply techniques illustrated on this
site, or to use programs or source code originated by The Deco Group or
contributing authors, we ask you to contact us with a brief note explaining the
intended use, and credit the Deco Group as the source of the material. We
further ask that you grant permission for us to cite your project as a reference
when promoting Deco Group services. While it is our intent to freely give
permission for such use, failure to request permission or failure to acknowledge Deco Group as the source of the material
violates our terms of use, and may result in legal action.
We solicit fellow enthusiasts to contribute articles and materials to be made freely available under the terms described above. Several folks have freely contributed materials. We invite you to contribute any tweak, program, script file, or dissertation you may have that may be beneficial to others.
