Anan Anwar

We all remember child star Anan Anwar from the snappy hits "Ding Dong" and "Taleung" with which he shone in his first two, enormously successful dance pop albums. It was quite strange to witness adults in their 30s twisting and shaking to tunes by a pre-teenage lad who had to buy new clothes every few months because he was still growing so rapidly.

Anan did nothing more than follow in the footsteps of his older brother Joni, who was initially successful with the rap duo Raptor and subsequently started his solo career.

It was quiet around Anan for a while, but now the youngster is back with his third album "Anan Earth Check" on the RS Promotion label.

Having reached the ripe old age of 15 years, he says he has matured considerably since his child star days and greatly enjoyed working on his latest album, because he finally was treated as an adult by everybody.

"I liked that the producer team really consulted with me extensively this time about what music style I wanted and what messages the lyrics should confer. They took me seriously and heeded my suggestion. It was a completely different situation from my previous albums," he beamed.

Anan also asserted that his newly acquired grown-up status not only reflects in a slicker and more polished album, but also in his personal appearance and dance style.

Gone are the times when he enticed his audiences dressed in baggy bermuda shorts and colorful sweatshirts and frantically bopped on stage.

"I have changed my style to long pants and stylish shirts instead and also have worked hard to develop my dance moves to become more coordinated. The fans will love it," he said.
