Since the conference split into the WAC and MWC, the WAC has still been dominating ranking 6th and 8th in the NCAA Div. 1A. The survey tallies points on the basis of 20 points for a first-place NCAA finish by a team from the conference, 19 for second, and continuing that pattern through the 20th spot. For football, the AP Poll was utilized. The compilations were released by the Big 12 Conference and were patterned after all-conference standings developed by Fred Jacoby. The WAC finished way ahead of the MWC in the men's survey beating them by only 100 points and the MWC was 7th in the womens poll just 5 points ahead of the WAC Women.
