The Red Sox, to the tune of "Cowboy Up!" staved off elimination after being down 2 games to none.  They managed to win three in a row against the Oakland A's to advance to the ALCS for the first time since 1999.  Here are some photos from the series, courtesy of MLB.com
Manny Ramirez's three-run home run was his first RBI in the series.  It could not have come at a better time as Ramirez put the Sox in front to stay.
Derek Lowe celebrates with catcher Jason Varitek after striking out Terence Long and propelling the Sox to the ALCS and a showdown against the Yankees.  Lowe received the save in game 5, preserving Pedro Martinez's win.
There was a scary moment in game 5, as Damian Jackson and Johnny Damon collide while chasing down a pop-fly in the game.  Jackson would remain in the game but Damon was transported by ambulance to an Oakland hospital.  Damon's CAT scan was negative and it was unclear whether he would play in game 1 of the ALCS.
Kevin Millar (center) celebrates with teammates Tim Wakefield (second from right) and Trot Nixon (far right) after their victory over Oakland in game 5.  Bring on the Yankees!
