Strategies and Basic Tips
The main defensive point is of course, your base. Walling-in is the best way to defend your town. This is where you block all entry points with farms and/or other buildings, and place 3-4cannon towers behind this "farm-wall". this eliminates the possibility of 9 grunts or ogres just running into your base and killing everything. Also a Cat or 2 behind the wall can help too. As with almost every strategy there is a counter, for walling-in it is Sappers. These little creatures can reduce your entire wall into rubble in a matter of seconds. Therefore, you must do the counter to Sappers. What is that you ask? Well, it's a mixture of axethrowers, and guard towers. I like to put a few axethowers outside of the wall, and a few guard towers on the inside. Upgrade the range of your axethrowers too. Another great thing about axethrowers opposed to guard towers, is they move. So not only are they good against Sappers, they are also good against dragons. Another great trick against Sappers, is to eliminate their chance of hitting 2 or 3 buildings at once. They do this by exploding at the corner of two buildings. So if you build a wall in these corners, a Sapper can only get one building at a time. And if it doesn't kill the building, then your opponent probably lost more money than you.

Defence
Now comes the hard part. What if the enemy attacks with a large amount of varied units? Well this is the best attack your opponent can do, and it can be very damaging. So just how do you stop it? The best way is to have a lot of varied units your self, and match them up 1 for 1. With your home tower advantage, you should come out on top. The main problem is Spell-Casters. A DK can demolish 4 towers if they are next to each other. And even if they arn't next too each other 4 DK's can kill 4 towers. So the first thing you attack when the enemy comes your way, is the Spell-Casters. Don't send 9 Ogres to kill one DK, as it will probably cast D&D on you and severly weaken your ogres. Just send one ogre, as it will be able to do the job.

No-One has ever won a game by just sitting there defending himself. So that means you need a good offence. If you do you will force your opponent into a defensive game. Never sit there waiting to be attacked. Standing outside your opponents base, Lusting up, then killing 15 of his ogres and maybe a building or 2, is much more damaging than killing his 9 ogres while 15 of yours die. Keeping your base well defended should be something you mix with an offensive strategy. So a good offence is good defence. But you must have a balance. If you have no defence and all offence, then winning is going to be tough. But having all defence and no offence, will make winning impossible.
