I'm
not really an architect,
but I play one on my computer! I've been having fun with several
consumer-grade home plan programs for awhile. Most of the things here was done in
Broderbund's 3D Home Architect (v2, v3, and v4). It's a good one for
visualizing an idea quickly, though it has shortcomings (as they all
do). These programs were designed to allow anyone to do their own floor
plans and quickly see their ideas in three dimensions. Oddly, they I
haven't found one that makes it easy to simply save images of your designs
for art's sake alone. Most of these images are cropped-down screen
