The World Through Ear Wax I have an 'eary' problem today. Again. My right ear is clogged with some ancient hardened wax, which makes it rather uneasy for me to hear everything clear and present. But I don't really seem like I am deaf. The world sounds like a film though, in which I also play a part. I am there but not quite there. The NHS refuses to treat the issue with any seriousness; they say 'its nothing, take some olive oil.' My dear friend, a certain mr. alam, who is experienced in the matter says its a case of 'flu taken a wrong turn'. Yes, have you heard and felt yourself cough through your right ear? It sounds like someone else. Not being able to hear what you do and want to hear instantly makes you do strange things. I have been dousing myself in extra cologne and deos, so as to smell fine when getting too-close-for-comfort to make up for my temporary [hopefully] hearing impairment. But I still end up with a 'yes-what-haan?' predicament and then decide to quit. |
