Miscellaneous Sailor Moon Sightings
On the 4th of November, 2008, the showcase on the popular game show "The Price Is Right" was introduced via the lyrics of the song "One Week" from the Barenaked Ladies. The song itself has a reference to Sailor Moon in it, and so when those lyrics came up, the showcase featured a model wearing a rather unusual Sailor Moon costume and doing some stylised Sailor Moon poses.
You can watch the video here.
P.S. - The model's wardrobe was apparently provided by "Venus".
On one Episode of the popular American gameshow 'Jeapordy', which gives you the answers and you have to say the questions in the form of "What is (answer)", they had a category for 'Anime'. Amongst answers about Akira, Princess Mononoke and Pokémon, there was one that goes like so;
The correct question, of course, being "What is Sailor Moon". With the attribution to Naoko and the correct use of 'Pocket Monsters' in the Pokémon question, perhaps there's an Anime geek in the Jeapordy crew?
On the popular Australian talk show 'Rove Live', hosted by Rove McMannus, for one episode he would occasionally show clips of earlier when he had visited a comic convention and interviewed some of the people cosplaying. There were three Sailor Moon cosplayers; a pair (Pluto and Mars) and a Sailor Moon who had a large, bootlegged wand that looked like the Cutie Moon Rod. Rove stared transfixed at her wand and she took the show out to the ending credits when she appeared the second time. The first pair said they were upset that there were other Sailor Moon cosplayers at the event, but stated their costumes were better because "their skirts were shorter". None of them were really that great. Cute, but not great.
Bitterly disappointed that I wasn't there.
