MAKE UP TIPS
Some tricks of the trade which everyone knows. But good to have them on paper anyway!
1)
LIPSTICK
Add a bit of concealer or foundation before applying lipstick. It helps it stay on longer.
2)
FOUNDATION
If using white powder, rub it well into creases around the nose, eyes etc. If you have slight blemishes on your face (like me) add concealer first. T helps make a nice, porcelain doll-like look.
3)
EYELINER
The liquid stuff is great if you have a steady hand. If, like me, you don’t have a steady hand, use kohl eye liner for nice, smoky, sultry eyes. If you want a more definite line, lick the end of a normal eye pencil before applying. It helps it go on a little easy and hopefully eliminates most of the unsteadiness.
4)
HAIRDYE
Put a little Vaseline around the forehead and ears. When you get the inevitable streaks during rinsing, you can wipe them straight off.
SUBSTITUTES
Some good substitutes for those “oh my goddess, I can’t find it moments.”
LIPSTICK
Black eyeliner makes good lipstick and lipliner.
EYESHADOW
A bit of black lipstick on the finger works fine. A bit of smudged kohl also does the same trick.
NAIL VARNISH
Black permanent marker pens work as nail varnish as discovered during a recent lecture! They probably don’t do the nails any good so only recommended for the truly desperate!
