Will it all make sense in the end? Of course it will. Just not now.
There is no pattern; No master plan. And if there was one It's been thrown out.
A series of coincidences, Random occurances, And experiences that are quickly forgotten.
These chance happenings And quick meetings That are the reason Life is what it is.
But no one's noticing.
We live in an age Where no one is looking. Always in a rush; Never stopping to admire.
Pause.
Look at the world. Observe everything. See what you've been missing.
Don't get disappointed, though. What you're seeing is a completely Unadulterated version that has not been Sanitized for your personal protection.
There will be hypocrisy. Man killing man; both in the name of God. Absolute power corrupting absolutely.
There will be blatant ignorance. People proud of their ability To know nothing Of any importance.
There will be stupidity and hostility; Bigotry, discrimination, brutality, and Unexplainable acts of cruelty.
Ugliness will be present as well as Lying and cowardice and rape; Both physical and metaphorical.
Pause. Understand.
These are sins that are all around us; And have been since day one.
Traits that we only see in others We possess ourselves; and once we rid the individual We can go to work on society.
But that is useless For people will not change unless they are forced Or if they see the flaw themselves.
So do you try and fail, or Do you not try; knowing that the outcome Will be one of failure.
An enigma.
Are you the optimist who believes in the basic good in people? Are you the pessimist that believes in the basic evil in people? Are you the realist that believes that people will be people?
There are in betweens of each choice. But the choice is yours And yours alone.
Just see the world for what it is.
No pretensions; for life is beautiful enough Without false pride attached to it. Every moment of life is precious. And as a society We spend too much time doing useless things. Learning things that do not affect our future hopes and dreams. Learning things that do not affect out appreciation of culture. Learning things that only confuse us further. Then there are the simpler problems. Commuting two hours a day. Watching too much television. Not exercising your mind. Playing video games. Talking about nothing. Living.
No action in this world, Lest it interfere with other's lives, Is inherently bad.
Rather we push it to extremes. Moderation is key. Do what you enjoy, But do it too much and it is no longer enjoyable.
And as contradictory as that sounds, It is the simplest of double meanings to understand On this mobius strip called life.
We go through the same problems every day of our lives. We try to solve them the same way every time. And we are always surprised by the result. On this circular, neverending journey we call life. |
