| Anyone who's ever owned a 79-86 Mustang can vouch as to how cheap the center console is. Since I was intent on keeping the 86 dash, I was stuck with the center console as well. One day I got my hands on a 98 center console and started to compare it to the 86, and after some planning and ALOT of help from a friend name Randy Moruzzi that can weld and fabricate plastic, this is what resulted. In addition to the mods that you see here, I had to cut the metal piece from a 98 that the e-brake mounts to and reweld it into the my 79 so that I could move the handle from the center to the right side of the driveshaft tunnel. Every mod that I make to this car has to end up looking as OE as possible, or I don't do it. |
