Meet Hannah Walker
Throughout my teaching career I have been acknowledged as a leader among my peers. I am known as an innovative leader in curriculum development and an expert in the field of technology use in the classroom. I have been the recipient of educational grants for technology use in the classroom from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Teacher Leadership Project and the Puget Sound Center Technology Coaching Institute.
I have also been a coach in athletics for thirteen years, specifically in volleyball and gymnastics. Coaching and my many years as a college athlete taught me valuable skills including leadership, strong communication, team work, problem solving, perseverance, character building, and lovingly mentoring others. I have skills to teach and coach most sports as I have a major in physical education as well.
Perhaps what makes me a most exceptional candidate for international schools overseas is my strong commitment to professional development. I am a hard worker and dedicated life long learner. Through classes, workshops and especially through travel and life experiences, we are offered tremendous opportunities to grow and learn in our knowledge of the world, people, and our relationship to one another.
Some of my most valuable life experiences have been through travel. I have gained deep and valuable perspecives through my travels in Europe and the Middle East as well as getting to know many of the locals while living in Cyprus. It is a priority of mine to travel and learn about people, history, and cultures through first hand experience and exploration. I am spontaneous, enthusiastic, easy-going, adaptable, optimistic, and have a joy for living. Because I have these characteristics, I thrive in new opportunities and adventures.
