OISIN:  Son of Finn mac Cumhail, he was both warrior and poet.

Oisin was lured to the mystic land of Tir na-n-Og when he met the daughter of the King of that land.  According to the Druid of Tir na-n-Og, only the son-in-law of the king could take his throne in the annual competition.  Hearing this he took his only daughter, Niamh, and with a druid wand placed a pig’s head on her body.  She discovered the only way to  change herself back was to marry a son of Finn MacCumhail.  She located and selected Oisin of Finn’s children and succeeded in convincing him to marry her.  Then she had to return to her own world of Tir na-n-Og.  Oisin agreed to follow her, where he did indeed obtain the kingship of the land.

Also known as:  OSSIAN.
