| A great area with condensed shopping, eating and entertainment. Several large air-conditioned shopping malls, complimented by a network of small shopping streets close by with lots of tiny boutiques selling one of a kind teen clothing, shoes, etc., around Siam Square. If you're tired of shopping the area offers lots of restaurants and cafes to take a break.
::Siam Center:: Siam Center, which along with Siam Discovery now forms a huge shopping complex where one mall merges into the next, and is a favourite hang-out of teens and twenty-somethings. Good local fashion designers and brand name labels plus European established names and even that British favourite, Marks and Spencer. Huge cinema complex located on the top floor. Open: 10:00-22:00 daily Skytrain: Siam ::MBK:: MBK (Mah Boon Krong) Seven floors packed with shops and more shops selling everything from crop tops to pianos. Hectic and busy especially at the weekend when half of Bangkok seems to coverge there. The food court on the sixth floor is enormous. Not as upmarket and stylish as Siam Discovery but less expensive and the range of goods is quite mind boggling- from jeans to mobile phones to bathroom items. On the top floor is an entertainment complex with cinemas boasting plush seats, new style Karaoke booths (with current chart artists - English and Thai - 20 Baht a song) a computer games area and lots of restaurants and places to snack. Open: 10:00-22:00 daily Location: On the corner of Rama I and Phayathai (Walk along the overhead bridge from Siam Skytrain station, or ask the taxi for MBK) Skytrain: National Stadium ::Siam Square:: Across from Siam Discovery Centre is an outdoor area packed with small boutiques, cafes, jewellry and shoe shops. Absolute heaven for teens and twenty-somethings and often frequented by students from nearby Chulalongkorn University.
