| Dave purchased his own late model for the 1995 season and returned to the familiar number 33, and debuted a purple paint scheme, which remains one of Dave's favorite race cars to this day. Unfortunately, a few weeks into the season, Dave suffered a terrible accident when he hit the 4th turn wall head on. The highlight of the 1998 season was his victory in the open competition late model race. Dave was fast all day as he won his heat, and had built a commanding lead in the feature. He was slowed by lapped cars, and was passed for the lead, however after several restarts Dave charged back to the lead on the outside and raced to victory. |
