Differential and hydraulic case | |||||||

This view is as if you were looking back from about the location of the steering wheel. The bolts standing on top are the ones that hold the lift cover in place. Looking down in that opening, the round flange is where the pinion gear bearings support the pinion. Toward the front (bottom of picture) is a short length of shaft that aligns with the output of the gearbox. It is of fixed length, so the rear differential casing must be removed from the tractor in order to remove the pinion gear, which comes out toward the front. With everything else out, the rear case is still a hefty one man lift.. The hole at the very bottom receives the hydraulic pump. |
