Gerry was a teacher by profession.  But for Walt, though he is credentialed and has taught at both DeAnza College and for Mt. View/Los Altos Schools, his real interest is volunteer teaching for fun.  His current activitiy centers around SeniorNet Learning Center in San Jose where the students are seniors and the subject is what to do with computers and how to do it.

Volunteer ushering at the Flint Center, located on the DeAnza College campus, is an activity which both Gerry and Walt enjoy.  The patrons are a pleasure to work with and seeing the joy on their faces as they leave the theater is a reward in itself.  Besides, there are just so many really good shows that we would never see - infact never heard of - we just never really know what unknown treasure we'll find when we sign up to usher.

Now this is where Gerry really spends her time.  Helping those who need helping.  What more is there to say.
