Nikki Style!

Nikki is my dog who has a sense of humor, you can literally see her laughing. She will play little tricks on you and then run away laughing.  She thinks she is very funny. Her favorite joke is to run up to you when you call her to front, she does it perfectly, she looks up at you very innocently and then nips your crotch!  Then you can see her laugh at her little joke.  Most dogs would get corrected for something like that but I made the mistake of laughing with her the first time she did it and honestly she has so much fun doing it, why stop her?  

She enjoys swimming, freestyle and silly clicker tricks.  She was an abused puppy and is now paying the price physically for that. Due to her injuries she has severe dysplasia in her hip but doesn't let that stop her.  Since she's been with us she has known nothing but love and gives nothing but love in return.

In addition to the dysplasia she is also hypothyroid and tends to be overweight.  The biggest effect this has is the weight gain is detrimental to the hip and the hip problem makes it difficult to exercise and lose the weight.  We do what we can with her to keep her healthy, our regime consist of a fresh foods diet, wholesome snacks and as much exercise as she can tolerate.

This was Nikki's first Christmas with us, she could hardly believe all that stuff was for her.  When we brought her home the only thing she had was a small very chewed up piece of rawhide and a little red collar that was to small for her.  Needless to say she took to living with us rather quickly and had no trouble becoming very spoiled.
