James Deluca
In his own words:
"I was born June 26,1965 in Michigan. My heritage is Italian,Dutch and Cheyenne.
Who I am today is due to my parents. My father taught me to respect and care
for the land.My mother taught me to always remember who I am and where I come
from. But they both made sure I stayed true to who I am.And so 15 years ago when
I had the chance to learn bow making from an elder it was only natural for me.
He also taught arrow making and flintknapping and how to use these skills in a
good way.Soon after I began,I realized this was going to be a life long journey.
And that showing others these old skills,so they could experience and appreciate
a way of life, was going to be very important to me."
Jim worked at Kevin Costner's Tatanka the year of its creation(2003),becoming friend with the rest of the people working there.
In 2004, he became part of "WICOTI" in Hill City, SD, bringing with him his skills of bowmaker, arrowmaker, and flintknapper as well as his good sense of humor.
Jim was also co-star of  "Surviving a buffalo hunt" an  episode of "Extreme History", on the History Channel, hosted by .....Roger Daltrey!
